The Tsai lab at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking to hire a postdoctoral researcher to investigate the structure, function, and pathophysiological roles of mitochondria calcium transport proteins, which play critical roles in heart failure, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and cancer. Methods include membrane biochemistry, cryo EM, imaging, animal models, and electrophysiology.

Please see our website for more details: tsaislab.org The lab is currently supported by two NIH R01s, and have plenty of funding in the next 5 years. Our papers in the last 5 years were published in eLife, PNAS (2 articles), Cell Reports, Nature, and Molecular Cell.

There are additional papers in the late stage of the review process in Nature and Nature Structural & Molecular Biology. We have extensive collaboration with scientists at Cornell, Harvard, Wash U St. Louis, University of Michigan, and Stanford.

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

1. Have a PhD degree in biochemistry, physiology, or related fields.

2. Have first-author publications in SCI journals.

3. Enthusiastic in science, responsible, and good at teamwork.

4. Good English speaking, listening, and writing abilities.
