Lab: Keita Kamino

Position: Research Assistant x 2

Responsibilities:
Launched in September 2022, the Kamino lab explores fundamental principles governing cellular behavior and information processing. With Keita's background in physics, our lab integrates a range of approaches, including molecular genetics, theoretical physics, microscopy, and machine learning. We are currently seeking two RAs with strong backgrounds in related fields and a passion for interdisciplinary research. Potential areas of exploration include but are not limited to:
- Live-cell analysis of cellular behaviors using advanced microscopy techniques.
- Theoretical analysis of cell-signaling dynamics using probability, information, and dynamical-systems theory.
- Image and time-series analysis using advanced statistical techniques, including machine learning.
- Development of pioneering measurement tools in microscopy and microfluidics.

Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree or higher in fields related to biology, physics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
2. While previous experience in related fields is a plus, it's not mandatory. What's more important is the motivation to learn and adapt.
3. A sustained interest in research (e.g., over 2 years) will be advantageous.
