Please be reminded that there have been rental scams recently targeting students. The perpetrators pretend that the rental properties are in high demand, requesting tenants to pay a deposit upfront. They promise a refund if the tenant is not satisfied. However, they fail to show up at the agreed time and location, leaving students realizing they have been scammed.
It is suggested that if the rental conditions seem too good to be true, such as low prices or fully furnished accommodations, or if they require a deposit before viewing the property, students should be more cautious.
Typically, deposits are collected after signing the contract. With various channels available for student housing, from physical advertisements to online social groups, it's essential to remain vigilant.
Do not pay anything before actually seeing the house!
